This route climbs Binsey, the most northerly of the 214 Wainwrights, from a small free roadside parking area east of the fell, with room for about three cars. It sits at about 265 m. The nearest bus stop with a current service is Village Green in Uldale, about 2.3 km away in a straight line, served by the 553.

The line is 1.2 km long and gains about 180 m. After a few metres of lane it follows a track with a grass surface on the map for about 1 km, then a path for the last 100 m or so to the top. The climb is even throughout: about 310 m at 300 m in, 380 m at 700 m, and the summit at 447 m. No part of it is graded for difficulty on the map.

None of the line follows a public right of way in the LDNPA data, but almost all of it crosses open access land, where walkers have a right of access on foot. The route ends a few metres from the mapped path at the summit point.

Binsey is 447 m high, 192nd of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Northern Fells in Book 5. Its nearest Wainwright neighbours and their distances are listed below the route.
