This is a short, steep line up Glaramara from the car park at Seathwaite. Parking is paid, there is room for about 60 cars, and the car park sits at about 125 m. The nearest bus stop with a current service is the Youth Hostel stop at Honister, 1.6 km away in a straight line, served by the 77A. The Esk Pike route shares the first 700 m or so.
The route is 2.9 km long and gains about 660 m. The opening 800 m climb only from about 125 m to 160 m, on a short lane, a track and then a bridleway. At about 0.73 km a path takes over, and it crosses Hind Gill at about 0.9 km.
The height comes quickly after that. Between 0.8 km and 1.6 km the path climbs from about 160 m to 495 m, and by 2.5 km it has reached about 720 m. The last 360 m or so are on a path OpenStreetMap grades mountain hiking, rising to the top at 783 m. The final few metres leave the mapped path for the summit point.
About 1.7 km of the line follows public footpaths and bridleways, and 2.3 km crosses open access land.
Glaramara is 783 m high, 45th of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Southern Fells in Book 4.
