This route climbs Sheffield Pike from Beckside car park in Glenridding village. Park with Ease runs it on behalf of the Lake District National Park Authority, and parking is paid. The car park sits at about 155 m, and the Bus Shelter stop, about 80 m away, is served by the 508, 509 and 559.

The line is 2.8 km long and gains about 520 m. Its first 1.3 km are the same as the Glenridding Dodd route. The first 700 m are nearly flat, rising only from about 155 m to 200 m, and use paths, lanes, a short track and Greenside Road.

After that the line climbs steadily for about 1.4 km, from about 200 m at 0.7 km to 600 m at 2.1 km. It passes Heron Pike at about 2.1 km. The last 650 m are gentler, gaining about 75 m to the top at 676 m, where a cairn is mapped. No part of the route is graded for difficulty on the map.

About 630 m of the line follows public footpaths and bridleways, and 1.8 km crosses open access land. About 420 m, in two stretches between about 0.7 km and 1.4 km, is on paths the landowner opens by permission rather than public rights of way, and about 70 m of that lies outside open access land. The first 85 m or so after the car park are on none of these in the data.

Sheffield Pike is 676 m high, 99th of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Eastern Fells in Book 1.
