This is a very short route. It climbs Little Mell Fell from free roadside parking at about 385 m. The nearest bus stop with a current service is The Quiet Site at Horrockwood, about 770 m away in a straight line, served by the UB1 and UB2.
The whole line is 0.6 km long and gains about 120 m. It follows a lane for about 30 m, then a footway for about 100 m, then a single path for the rest of the way. None of it is graded for difficulty on the map.
The first 100 m are nearly level. From there the path climbs at an even rate, from about 390 m to 420 m at 200 m in, 475 m at 400 m and 500 m at 500 m, before reaching the summit at 505 m. No cairn or trig pillar is mapped at the top.
About 130 m of the line follows a public footpath, and about 450 m crosses open access land.
Little Mell Fell is 505 m high, 173rd of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Eastern Fells in Book 1.
