This route climbs Arthur's Pike from a small free car park at Roehead, with room for about eight cars. It sits at about 215 m. The nearest bus stop is Turn for Hillcroft Park at Sharrow Bay, about 830 m away in a straight line, served by the UB1.

The line is 3.8 km long and gains about 340 m, a gentle gradient for most of its length. It follows Roe Head Lane for about 55 m, then a track graded hiking by OpenStreetMap, rising to about 265 m at 0.5 km. A path then dips slightly to cross Elder Beck at about 0.8 km.

From there the climb is steady. The line reaches about 300 m at 1.5 km, crosses Aik Beck at about 1.9 km on a short bridleway graded hiking, and is at about 450 m by 3 km. The last 800 m rise to the top at 533 m, where a cairn is mapped. The paths beyond the bridleway are not graded for difficulty on the map.

About 650 m of the line follows public rights of way, a restricted byway and a bridleway, and 3.8 km, almost all of it, crosses open access land.

Arthur's Pike is 533 m high, 157th of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Far Eastern Fells in Book 2.
