This is a short route up Lingmoor Fell from the National Trust's Blea Tarn car park, which sits at about 205 m. Parking is paid. The nearest bus stop with a current service is Great Langdale Campsite, about 1.9 km away in a straight line and not on this route, served by the 516.
The line is 1.1 km long with about 260 m of ascent. It begins with about 70 m of Side Gates Road, a lane, then turns onto a path. Between 0.1 km and 0.8 km the path climbs from about 200 m to 405 m, levels briefly, and then rises again to the top at 470 m. No cairn or trig pillar is mapped at the summit.
Most of the path is not graded for difficulty on the map. A section of about 85 m at 0.9 km is graded hiking by OpenStreetMap.
Only about 40 m of the line is on a public footpath in the LDNPA data, but nearly all of it, about 1.1 km, crosses open access land, where walkers have a right of access on foot. The rest is the lane.
Lingmoor Fell is 470 m high, 184th of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Southern Fells in Book 4.
The GPX file is the same line, from the car park to the summit. The quickest way back is the way you came; plan anything longer with a map before you start.
