Yoke is 707 m high, joint 84th of the 214 Wainwrights by height, and belongs to the Far Eastern Fells in Book 2. This route starts from paid roadside parking near Kentmere, with room for about eight cars, at about 175 m. The nearest bus stop with a current service is Town Head by spring in Troutbeck, about 4.1 km away in a straight line, served by the 508.

The line is 4.1 km long and gains about 540 m. It follows Hollin Lane for about 440 m and a track for about 170 m, then Garburn Road, a restricted byway, for about 1.1 km. This first stretch climbs gradually, to about 330 m by 1.6 km.

Beyond Garburn Road the route follows paths all the way to the top, none of them graded for difficulty on the map. Between 1.7 km and 2.3 km the path climbs from about 335 m to 515 m. It then runs almost level for about 900 m, rising only to about 565 m by 3.2 km.

A second climb follows, from about 565 m to 655 m in 400 m, and the last 500 m rise gently to a summit cairn at 707 m.

About 2.4 km of the line follows public footpaths and restricted byways, 440 m is on the lane, and 3.2 km crosses open access land.
